Policies and Guidelines
PLEASE BE SURE TO READ THE POLICIES AND REGISTRATION FORM CAREFULLY.
1. REGISTRATION: Your registration form and $30 fee reserve a space in a class for your student.
2. TUITION: Tuition is due in full at the first class of the month. Tuition is not discounted for classes missed, nor for holidays or inclement weather. Each class is GUARANTEED 30 CLASSES PER SEASON. There is no additional charge for five-week months so that each class receives the same number of lessons during the year. There is no additional charge for parents' week classes or dress rehearsal. If you miss a class, we offer make-up classes when possible. Pro-rating is NOT AVAILABLE but make-up classes are available. On the 15th day of the month, a late fee of $5.00 will be charged to the delinquent accounts. Tuition is expected to be paid unless official notification is made to the office that a student is dropping.
3. DELINQUENT ACCOUNTS: If an account becomes delinquent by two months, the student will not be allowed to attend class until the account is brought up-to-date or some other acceptable arrangement has been made.
4. RETURNED CHECK FEE: A $20.00 fee will be charged for checks returned by the bank.
5. DROPPING A CLASS: Please notify the office before the first of the month if you are planning to drop a class to avoid late fees.
6. TERMINATION: Dance Dynamics, Inc. reserves the right to terminate the dance instruction of any student at any time, with or without cause.
7. INCLEMENT WEATHER/HOLIDAYS: Dance Dynamics will only observe the holidays outlined in our official calendar. Please be sure to check because we do not observe all of the same holidays as the school system nor do we observe teacher workdays. In the event of inclement weather, we will most likely follow the policy of the Wake County Public School System. However, please call the studio and check the answering machine because we reserve the right to have classes.
8. RECITAL: Participation in recital is optional. If you are interested in participating, please read the following information carefully.
RECITAL FEE: A recital fee of $45.00 per family is due on February 1 and includes four tickets to the recital. (These will be handed out during costume pick-up week.) Additional tickets will be available. Lost tickets will not be replaced or refunded so take good care of them. This fee also covers the cost of the auditorium rental, printing of programs and tickets, and recital sets.
RECITAL COSTUMES: For students ages 2.5 the costume will be $50. For ages 3-6, the first combination ballet/tap costume will cost $60.00 and the second skirt will be discounted. For students ages 6 and up, each costume will cost $70. We will post the cost for each class’ costume on the bulletin board so you will know whether you are using a combination costume or not.
One half of your total costume fee is due October 1 and the balance is due November 1. If costume fees are not fully paid by December 1, a costume will not be ordered for your child. Costumes will be handed to parents or adult representatives during costume pick-up week.
RECITAL REHEARSALS: ALL STUDENTS PARTICIPATING IN THE RECITAL ARE REQUIRED TO ATTEND THE MANDATORY DRESS REHEARSAL THE WEEK OF MAY 21-24. If a student does not attend his/her scheduled rehearsal time, Dance Dynamics reserves the right to not allow the student to participate in the recital. In the case of family emergencies, we will try to accommodate your problems, but we will make no promises. Dress rehearsal times will be posted later in the year and count as class time. Exceptions will be made for mandatory school functions.
RECITAL: The recital dates are MAY 25 & 26 and the times will be announced as soon as they are available. The recital dates are chosen by the auditorium’s availability, not by the director’s choice. Please take as many photos and as much video as you would like at the dress rehearsal, but during the actual recital, NO CAMERAS OR VIDEO CAMERAS will be allowed. We will have a professional video photographer filming the recital. You will receive purchase forms for recital videos during costume pick-up week. Anyone found taking flash photography or videos at the recital will be escorted out of the auditorium.
9. LIABILITY OF DANCE DYNAMICS, INC.: (a) Dance Dynamics, Inc. is not and shall not be responsible for injuries received by any student of Dance Dynamics, Inc. while attending class or while on the premises unless such injuries result from negligence of the owners or staff of Dance Dynamics, Inc., which negligence is the sole and proximate cause of such injuries; (b) Dance Dynamics, Inc. shall be responsible for students only while they are in the classroom. Parents of all small children are required to be at the premises when the class ends for their child. Dance Dynamics, Inc. specifically is not responsible for older dance students who may choose not to attend class after having been dropped off at the premises during or following their class.
10. OBSERVERS: Observers are not allowed in class without prior approval from the instructor. We have two open observation weeks, one in December and one in March. Windows have been installed in the doors to each studio for parents to observe their child if necessary. Instructors are not responsible for students before or after class. If you plan to leave your child at the studio to change their own shoes between classes, please make sure that the INSTRUCTOR, not the office, is notified and place their dance bag inside the classroom. Students will not be allowed to run in and out of class, so in many cases it is better for the parents not to stand at the windows. Please do not interrupt class time unless you have an emergency.
11. PICTURES: Any pictures taken of the dancers at Dance Dynamics or related events may be used on our website or posted at the studio.
12. TIGHTS: All students are required to wear tights for ballet or combination classes. All students must have their legs covered with either tights or dance pants or capris for jazz, tap, hip hop and lyrical. NO BARE LEGS ALLOWED! Shorts are acceptable but only with tights or covering to the knee. This policy is not only for the benefit and health of the dancer and the instructor, but the cleanliness of the studio. Please NOTE: A student will be given one warning. If they forget their tights or wear street clothes again, they will not be allowed to dance.
